Introducing Client Notes: The Context That Makes AI Coaching Smarter

Client Notes gives coaches a dedicated space to document observations and clients a way to share feedback during workouts — and every note makes our AI agents smarter about your clients.

Every coach carries around a mental file on each client — old injuries, movement preferences, training goals, how they respond to volume. That knowledge makes you a better coach, but it’s locked in your head. It doesn’t scale, it doesn’t transfer between sessions, and your tools can’t use it.

Today we’re launching Client Notes — a dedicated space for coaches and clients to capture the context that matters. But this isn’t just a note-taking feature. Every note you write makes our AI agents smarter about your clients, so the more you document, the more personalized your programming becomes.

Capture Context, Compound the Value

Client Notes is designed around one idea: the observations you make as a coach are valuable data. When you note that a client has a nagging hip flexor issue, or that they respond well to higher frequency upper body work, or that they’re training for a Spartan Race in October — that context doesn’t just sit in a file. Our AI agents use your notes to surface insights and deliver more personalized programming recommendations.

The more you document, the smarter the system gets. Over time, you’re not just keeping records — you’re building an AI-powered coaching history for every client.

Built for How Coaches Actually Work

Every client has a dedicated Notes tab with a two-panel layout: note list on the left, markdown editor with live preview on the right.

Notes can be created in three contexts:

  • Standalone — general observations, goals, preferences
  • During workout tracking — automatically linked to that session
  • Tied to a specific exercise — build a history for specific movements over time

Organize with four label types — General, Goals, Injury, and Update — then search and filter across weeks or months of notes. The markdown editor supports rich formatting so your notes can be as structured or freeform as you need.

Exercise-level tagging is especially powerful for long-term coaching. Tag notes to a specific movement and you build a history for that exercise — pain points, form cues, progressions — all in one place and all available to the AI when it’s helping you program.

Clients Can Contribute Too

During a workout, clients can tap the notes button to send a message to their coach. Notes are automatically labeled and attached to the workout session, so when you review their training later, their feedback is right there alongside your own observations.
